Life 9 is one of Young Living’s most popular products.
It is a probiotic that can help to populate the gut with beneficial bacteria. Life 9 boasts 17 billion live bacteria from 9 different strains. There are bifidobacterium that populate the entire gut, lactobacillus that populate the small intestine, and streptococcus thermophillus.
This blend of bacteria helps to support normal gut health, promotes healthy digestion, helps maintain normal intestinal function. When the gut is healthy, then the immune system can optimally function. When our guts are optimally populated with good bacteria, we are also more able to digest food and our liver is less burdened.
So what to do now that Life 9 is out of stock? The answer surprised me.
I am a huge advocate of digestive enzymes: Essentialzyme, Essentialzyme-4, Allerzyme or Detoxzyme are all wonderful options to support digestive health. But they do not specifically help support bacterial health in the gut. So what do I recommend: Master Formula or Sulfurzyme powder. What? What on earth would a multivitamin or cell supplement provide that can support bacterial health in the gut?
The answer: fructooligosaccharides (FOSs). FOSs is a naturally occurring mild sweetener found in onion, garlic, chicory, banana, asparagus, and other vegetables and fruits. FOSs is comprised of linear units of fructose, and their size may vary from 2 fructose units up to 60. They are a non-digestible fiber that have many potential benefits in the body: they may aid in optimal mineral absorption and balance cholesterols.
For gut health, FOSs help support probiotic function because they act as a food source for probiotics. So Master Formula or Sulfurzyme powder, and the FOSs contained within it, help to support gut flora.
So there you go!
