Friendship Essential Oil Roll On

Meeting People in New York City is Tough

I recently made a new friend in New York City, and she had never used essential oils. Right off the bat I knew I had to fix this “never used oils” thing. I soon decided to mix up this unique Friendship Essential Oil Roll On to get her started.

This sweet smelling roller is great to share with all your oily and not-yet-oily friends alike. The combination of zesty kunzea oil with citrus-scented bergamot, woodsy sandalwood, and relaxing lavender is sure to be a blend any pal would love to receive.

Here’s my recipe for the perfect roll on to share with absolutely anyone.

To Make Your Friendship Essential Oil Roll On

Grab a 10 mL roller ball and add the following essential oils:

10 drops kunzea

6 drops bergamot

4 drops sandalwood

3 drops lavender

QS AD fractionated coconut oil to 10 mL. For all you non-pharmacy geeks, that means add enough to get you to 10 mL. Basically, fill-er up!

Optionally, you can add peridot pieces into your essential oil roller. The peridot crystal opens our hearts to new relationships as well as promotes joy. Who wouldn’t want a bit of that? Screams “Friendship Roll On” to me!

Customized Lotions: An Easy Daily DIY

Hand and Body Lotion Can be Scented in a Million Ways

Some hand and body lotions are unscented which gives you the liberty to create your own customized lotion using your essential oils. Whether a skilled aromatherapist or just a DIY junkie, anyone can simply add a drop or two of their favorite essential oil to their daily dose of lotion.

I recommend adding the essential oils immediately before application instead of to the entire bottle. This ensures that you have flexibility in the aroma you wear from day to day; no more getting sick of the scent when you still have half a bottle left! More importantly, adding the oils immediately before application prevents the essential oils from breaking down the structure of the lotion and increasing the risk of the lotion separating into oil and water.

Adding oils to your lotion also helps distribute them evenly over a large area. Not to mention, essential oils are good for you, while most fragrances are toxic.

Ylang ylanglavender, and orange is my favorite uplifting blend.

You can also add a drop of cedarwood and lavender just before bedtime for a restful night.

For a masculine aroma, add a few drops of blue spruce and a drop of tea tree.

Use Caution with Photosensitizing Oils

Some essential oils make you more likely to get a sunburn, therefore, some people choose to avoid using photosensitizing oils such as bergamot, lemon, lime, or angelica before going in the sun.  This is especially important if you have very fair skin or if you live in a very sunny environment.

10 Ways to Use Cinnamon Bark

Essential Oils Can be Used in Hundreds of Ways

That is one of my favorite things about them; just how versatile they are. Most people are familiar with diffusing essential oils or applying them to the skin, but I like to think of new ways to use them that are perhaps creative and different than what you are used to. In this article, let’s talk through 10 uses for cinnamon bark essential oil.

10 Uses for Cinnamon Bark

Between the Sheets

Cinnamon bark essential oil supports sexual health and desire. To set the mood, simply diffuse a few drops of cinnamon bark essential oil in the bedroom, or add it to a small amount of water in a glass spray bottle and spritz between the sheets. Use some caution though! Cinnamon bark can be warm on the skin, and it is not something that you want to get onto sensitive areas. Be sure you dilute in carrier oil before applying to the skin, especially to sensitive areas.

Also keep in mind that both essential oils and fatty oils break down latex condoms. If you are using condoms to prevent infection and pregnancy, be sure to use a polyurethane or lamb’s skin condom instead of latex.

Tooth Paste Booster

Cinnamon bark contains up to 30% eugenol. This compound is great for supporting dental health. Try adding a drop on your toothbrush before brushing for a spicy, invigorating brush. You can also add a drop to some fractionated coconut oil and apply to teeth and gums before heading to the dentist for cleanings.

Scalp Treatment to Boost Hair Growth

This study indicates that eugenol may help promote healthy hair growth because it inhibits dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT may be a culprit that prevents optimal hair growth, and when you inhibit it hair can grow longer and faster. Since cinnamon bark is high in antioxidants, it also protects hair follicles to preserve hair health and strength.

To enjoy the benefits of cinnamon bark on the hair, combine 5-6 drops of cinnamon bark essential oil and 5 tablespoons organic olive oil. Massage into the scalp. Allow it to absorb for 45 minutes before washing with a natural shampoo. Alternatively, a drop or two of cinnamon oil may be added to your regular shampoo to maintain hair health.

Promote Emotional Well-Being

Cinnamon bark essential oil is beneficial to the lower chakras, which control our sense of confidence, organization, creativity, and self-expression. Because these chakras are also closely tied to our sense of security, an imbalance may cause issues with relationships. Thus, supporting the lower chakras may be beneficial for promoting healthy relationships, boundaries, and a heathy sexuality.

Cinnamon bark is also a powerful as an aid to releasing trapped emotions from past traumas.  A few drops of cinnamon bark in your diffuser will uplift the atmosphere and support your emotional well-being.

Ease Sore Muscles & Joints

Simply mix a few drops of cinnamon bark essential oil in a carrier oil for a warming, relaxing massage oil.

That Time of the Month Compress

To ease monthly discomforts, add a few drops of cinnamon bark oil to a basin of hot water. Moisten a cloth towel in the water and ring out the excess. Apply as a soothing hot compress to the lower abdomen for 15-20 minutes.

Warm Up During Cold Months

Add a drop or two of cinnamon bark to hot water and drink as a warming tea. Be sure that you are only using essential oils labeled for ingestion when you are adding them to foods and beverages.

Drain Freshener

To freshen a musty-smelling garbage disposal, run soapy water down the drain and drop in 5 drops of cinnamon bark and 3 drops of lemon essential oil. Let them sit for up to an hour. Rinse with clean water.

And this is just 10 Uses for Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil

So there you have it, 10 uses for cinnamon bark essential oil! This oil is so versatile and these are just ten uses. Comment below with your favorite way to use cinnamon bark.

Change of Season Throat Spray Recipe

A change of season often brings with it dry sinuses and throats. As soon as I start to notice that scratchy feeling in the back of my throat, I mix up this simple soothing spray. This throat spray combines some of my favorite essential oils for winter months, including lemon, cinnamon bark, clove, and peppermint.

The vodka in the recipe also brings antibacterial, antioxidant, and painkilling properties that are a perfect addition to the essential oils.

So Let’s Make a Change of Season Throat Spray

Ingredients

2 oz. glass spray bottle

1 tablespoon Vodka or distilled water

5 drops clove essential oil

4 drops cinnamon bark essential oil

5 drops lemon essential oil

6 drops peppermint essential oil

Directions

Add the vodka and essential oils to the spray bottle.

Top off with filtered water and label.

Spritz a scratchy throat 2-3 times as often as needed. Use caution when using this throat spray recipe around children or anyone who struggles with alcoholism. Substitute distilled water for the vodka if you plan to use with either of these populations.
